The conversations are important. Student engagement, education reform, CCSS, blended learning, STEM....There are more happening now than anyone could ever keep up with. When I poke my head in on them I'm always amazed at the passion that educators bring to their jobs. But nothing irritates me more than talk without action. Do the conversations lead to something or do they just get lost in the shuffle of everyone trying to keep their head above water?
When it comes to the big, important things we need to do together...are we going to be a crowd of voices, or a crowd of hands? -Jennifer Pahlka
I believe the most important thing I could do with this small platform would be to raise others up. So instead of letting the voices of #MACUL14 carry away with the wind of a school year quickly fading, I got my hands dirty with the following projects. This post is not designed to discuss all the topics contained in the media below or for you to pat me on the back for getting them done. I just want to let you know that the voices have been captured and these inspiring talks and conversations from Michigan educators are readily accessible for you to do with as you see fit. I hope you'll connect with them to continue the conversation, and more importantly...Act. Do. Make. Change.
