The end of August is not usually something teachers are looking forward to at the end of May.... but after submitting my session descriptions for this August 25th event, I am already getting excited! They have assembled a great line-up of keynote presenters, including people like Rushton Hurley & Steve Dembo, who I have heard present at MACUL. I will present two times, on topics that I feel will resonate with both classroom teachers and those in leadership positions in their district because of their "real-world" applications.
Session 1: Lessons from a wanna-be 1:1 elementary classroom: Teaching & Learning with under 5 devices.
How can 25 students share a few classroom computers and an iOS device or two? How can those tools be a consistent part of the learning process? That was this teacher's challenge in his 4th grade classroom. See what he learned about student engagement & how even young students can take ownership over curricular interventions, enrichment & extensions with internet access and Apps.
